Middle School Art: TransformationS

Art 1, Form 7 & Art 2, Form 8: Transforming 2-d to 3-d and back to 2-d.

The concept of “transformation” occurs naturally throughout the year in Middle School Art. In this particular challenge, students were tasked to transform a simple, flat piece of paper into a three-dimensional paper sculpture. (Step 1) After the physical transformation had occurred, students then used a light source and a camera to document their sculpture so they could transform it back to a detailed, flat graphite drawing. (Step 2) And VOILA, transformation complete!
