Doodles in the Wild

My final project implements the intersection of photography and illustration by transforming real-world scenes into playful, imaginative environments. Using photos I took as a foundation, I drew small characters directly onto the prints, allowing them to interact with the spaces in unique ways. These characters are intentionally simple and expressive, creating a contrast with the realism of the photographs. My inspiration comes from the small characters I doodle during class when my mind starts to wander.

What might have originally been a quiet or overlooked scene becomes active and alive through the presence of these figures. Within the environment, the characters climb, hide, and engage with objects. I aimed to blur the line between reality and imagination, suggesting that there are stories unfolding everywhere if we choose to see them. Overall, this project is about reimagining everyday spaces, encouraging curiosity, and highlighting the creative possibilities that emerge when different artistic mediums come together.
